As CTO, Dan is responsible for bolstering TandemSeven’s technology offerings, developing and leading the company’s strategic technology alliances, and working closely with clients. He leverages over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur and veteran consultant specializing in commercial and open source content management, portal, and collaboration platforms for large-scale enterprise customers.
Dan developed his expertise in content management systems in the mid-1990s while working at FutureTense (later acquired by OpenMarket), a pioneer in the CMS field. He continued working with CMS and portal products, including proprietary offerings such as Vignette, Interwoven and Fatwire as well as open source products including Alfresco, OpenCms and LifeRay. Most recently, Dan architected and developed a new partner collaboration and portal platform for Cisco Systems based on LifeRay Enterprise Server. This work involved integration of several back end business processes with Salesforce.com and a project hosting system.
Before joining TandemSeven, Dan spent 10 years as the founder and CTO of eFoundry, a system integration consulting firm specializing in J2EE-based enterprise solutions. Dan was responsible for setting the company direction and building practice leadership through evaluation and selection of key technologies and partnerships. eFoundry delivered Web solutions for Fortune 500 companies such as AMTRAK, Capital One, Disney, GE, JPMorganChase, and Sirius Satellite Radio.
Dan is the author of the book OpenCms 7 Development, published by Packt Publishing. He is a regular guest speaker at the annual OpenCms Days conference held in Cologne Germany. Dan holds a Bachelors of Science degree from the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department at the University of New Hampshire.
